Africa is in dire straits. They have little or no infrastructure to deal with the grand maladies they have. What exactly should we do? Another country with an unwanted US military presence? We don’t need another Black Hawk Down. Africa has to fix its own problems, not rely on the rest of the planet to wipe their ass.
Im going to assume you have seen Captain America and you know what Hydra is. Basically I see African Militants, terrorists, warlords as Hydra. Chop off one head two more grow back. Im not saying we should totally abandon Africa, but sending troops to a war torn area is not the answer at the moment. Also, no oil.
It is a third world problem. The first world has huge second world concerns, so much so that the third world suffers even further, thank the second world, if you can define them.

Because sadly it’s just another day in a mostly lawless part of Africa. Most of the groups like Boko Haram have just changed names, and are the spawns of the communist/anti-communist rebel groups of the 50s to 80s era. Muslim extremism is just the flavor of the week, and means they get funding from the Gulf (EAU, Qatar etc) instead of the previous funding by the Soviets, Cuba, France, Belgium, South Africa, or random corporations with interests in the region. Edit : the only armies to work in Africa are France and the UK. As of now, they’re already stretched pretty thin because of the numerous operations all over.
