"Why would you want to go back in time to see stuff that we know all about? I think it would be more compelling go back to, say, a time about which we have very little information. Although we have a great body of knowledge about the Romans, no one alive has ever experienced what it was like to be there and there is quite a bit we do not know. I would much rather explore, learn, and gain information we don't know - and thus bring back to our time useful and heretofore unknown information - than go back and watch some jackass get shot in the head.  Consider: witnessing the birth of your country, Roman times, pre-history, dinosaurs, medieval times. Take a digital camera with you and become the world's greatest archaeologist. Or be a time-troll and leave modern stuff medieval castles, a la Michael Chrichton's "Timeline." "
